ImageHob Compression Benchmarks & Speed Tests
Across 150 test images at 80% visual fidelity (SSIM > 0.96), ImageHob reduces JPEG file sizes by an average of 73.8% and PNG screenshots by 64.2% to 87.4% in under 180 milliseconds per image. All benchmarks were executed locally inside Chrome on a standard consumer laptop with zero network transfer.
How were these image compression benchmarks measured?
Every sample image was processed directly in the browser using ImageHob’s standard 80% Visual Fidelity preset (and the 100KB Binary Search preset for the ID document scan). Processing time measures the complete local FileReader decode, HTML5 Canvas draw, and canvas.toBlob encoding cycle.
